About The Event

College Night For Music Students is the only event of its kind on Long Island. It is put together each year by parent volunteers of the Kings Park High School Music Booster Club to help music students in their college search.

Students grades 9-12  interested in continuing music studies as a major or minor, and high school graduates looking to transfer, will find this event very helpful.  Representatives from the music departments or from the music admission departments of colleges attending will be available to answer questions on auditions, courses, applications, requirements, scholarships, student life etc.

Interested students may be vocalists or instrumentalists with an interest in everything from musical theater, opera, classical, jazz and contemporary music, conducting, composition, music performance, music business, education, therapy and more.

Students may also be a science major who would like to play in the college orchestra or take a minor course in music.

Parents are welcome to accompany the students at this event or attend in their place if the student has a rehearsal or commitment.

Many students enjoy and benefit from the experience of being part of a local youth orchestra or attending a summer program. Representatives will be available to provide information in both these areas.  You may also want to ask any college that you are interested in attending if they have a summer program that would suit you.

College Representatives, Students and Parents can help us improve the event by taking the time to fill out a comment sheet before leaving the event.
